Photobucket ProblemsCollapse )

x-posted all over the place to hopefully save some sanity.

I was trying to update the calvinandhobbes community with some pics, and was having trouble logging in to photobucket - found this out. If anyone is having similar problems, you're not alone!

Did this community die? Don't let that happen!

I love The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It's my all time favorite video game. Also, very hardcore and oldschool.

Discuss.

i just finished watching the simpsons episode where bart sells his soul to milhouse for five bucks, and a couple of quotes got me thinking:

bart:"you traded my soul for pogs!?"
milhouse:"not just any pogs.... alf pogs! remember alf? hes back.... in pog form"

alf wasnt the subject of my thoughts... it was pogs.... altough alf WAS a pretty cool show

anyway, i started to think.... how could a product so simple and yet so stupid become the biggest fad in the world?
i mean, a pog was just a fairly simple drawing pasted on a round piece of cardboard!thats all it was! and there were no real sets to collect, like cards or books or whatever, most of them were just random drawings, but everyone still collected them!

wasnt it supposed to be a game of some sort? because i dont think i ever saw anyone playing with pogs... everyone was too busy looking at the pathetic pictures.

im embarrassed to say that i used to get mad at my mom for giving my three year old brother my pogs because he would destroy them with his drooling!

this fad maskes no sense to me now, and i am greatly ashamed at how much time and money i wasted on this crap

now im just getting more and more pissed off the longer i think about it, so i'll stop now

good night all

i love "old school" stuff, so it was only natural that i join.

...hi...

i recently received the entire "the tick" cartoon series i purchased from ebay. the quality may be a bit low, but all of the episodes sre there, so these should keep me happy.... at least until they get released officially.

i really hope this community takes off soon

Ok I got something for any of you.

Does anyone remember a movie that came out back in 1990 called Camp Cucamonga?? If you dont...its a shame. My ex best friend and I grew up watching that movie together, well that and Jurassic Park.

Here is a pic and a little description for anyone who is interested.

When "Colonel" Marv Shector (John Ratzenberger), an accountant, realizes his dream of owning a summer sleep-away camp, the fun is just beginning! He packs up his devoted wife Millie and their very responsible daughter Ava (Jennifer Aniston), and opens the doors to Camp Cucamonga. Busloads of teenagers arrive with their own plans for a mischievous summer spent girl-chasing, pulling pranks, and "communing with nature". Meanwhile, Marv is waiting for the camp inspector to arrive to pronounce everything "legit". Things really get mixed up when handyman Herbert Himmel (Sherman Hemsley) arrives and is given the grand treatments deserving of the inspector and the inspector gets the less-than-grand tour of the facility reserved for the handyman.

If you would like to find out who was in the movie you can check out this link: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0099212/fullcredits.

Im hoping this community will kick off soon enough!
Toodles~~~

Here it is. Inspired by the people and propeled by one book.
I just made this community so feel free to go all out on the conversations and I know its hard to keep it within the author of the book or the book itself to feel free to talk about all other "old school" things.
*Magic School bus
*Thundercats
*Calvin & Hobbes (though there is already a great community for that so go ahed and check that out)
*The peanuts gang
AND much more...

ENJOY
